I’m inspired by my daughter everyday.

I also love inspirational quotes, so put the two of them together and voila!  You have the photo you see above.

I love to share inspirational photos when I find them – so why not make my own!

The quote I chose brings back fond memories for me.  You might be asking yourself – fond memories of Harriet Tubman?  Strange thought I’m sure, but yes.  Here’s the story:

When I was in Middle School (circa 1985 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio) we had to put together a historical skit.  My friends and I put together a “This Is Your Life” themed presentation featuring none other than Harriet Tubman.

She was our chosen historical figure and we did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.  We made it all way to the state level competition with that skit!

So yes,  Harriet Tubman conjures up fond memories of my childhood.  Not mention she was a pretty amazing historical figure.

More from Wikipedia:  Harriet Tubman (born Araminta Harriet Ross; 1820 – March 10, 1913) was an African-American abolitionisthumanitarian, and Union spy during the American Civil War. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made more than nineteen missions to rescue more than 300 slaves[1] using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”  – Harriet Tubman

This quote is timeless and applies just as much today as it did 100 years ago.

I want my daughter to grow up knowing that she can change the world – it all starts with a dream.

Are you a dreamer?
