Easter is quickly approaching but let’s not forget about St. Patrick’s Day.  I’ve collected a few of my favorite St. Patrick’s Day inspired art projects to share.  Hopefully they will inspire you to get creative and share a little Irish fun this March!

This is one of my all time favorite art projects I created for Woo! Jr. Kids.  This projects is so easy and can be created using any variety of media.  You can create this art project in acrylic, watercolor, tempera paint, crayon marker, any media you desire.  It’s a great lesson in art history and you’ll create a colorful piece of art to share for St. Patrick’s Day!  See the full art project on Woo! Jr.

Another fun project I created for Woo! Jr. Kids is this illuminated manuscript multi-media project.  Not specific to St. Patrick’s Day, but this project, inspired by the Book of Kells, will teach you about one of Ireland’s most famous artifacts and how you can create your very own unique art project.  The technique used in this art project can be used in a variety of creative ways, not just for an illuminated manuscript.  It’s also a fun way to sneak in a little geography, art history, and art technique in a fun, easy project for all ages.  See the full art project on Woo! Jr.

I love tissue paper and contact paper art projects.  It’s such an easy way to create a colorful, easy, fun, low mess art projects.  You don’t need much for supplies and you can apply this technique to just about any holiday, theme, etc.  All you need is to decide on a shape and use whatever color combinations of tissue paper you’d like.  I used this technique to create this fun Mondrian-inspired art project as well.  See the full clover art project on Three Little Ferns.

You want an easy art project that packs of lot of punch?  All you need are pastels and black paper.  There’s no better way for color to pop than with a black background.  This fun shamrock pastel project is perfect for St. Patrick’s day.  I’ve also used this technique for a Picasso Blue Period-inspired art project too. See the full pastel shamrock project on Projects With Kids.

Watercolor is one of my favorite mediums to work with.  It’s easy to use and a quick way to create bright colorful effects.  Watercolor is fun for all ages and this art project could also be applied to just about any holiday or theme.  It’s a great combination of watercolor and collage!  I’ve used this technique before when creating a Salvador Dali inspired botanical watercolor collage.  See the full pastel shamrock project on Hello Wonderful.

How about a fun St. Patrick’s Day DIY shirt!  This easy project makes it fun to create your own St. Patty’s cothing for any age.  The concept of this art project is also easily applied to any holiday or theme.  All you need to do is decide on a shape and color palette and you’re off the races designing your own shirt.  See the full t-shirt shamrock project on Cutesy Crafts.

I hope your St. Patrick’s Day is a little more colorful with one of these creative, colorful art projects.
